On January 19, 2023, the IADB, represented by Gender Advisor Lieutenant Commander Taryn Senez (Brazilian Navy), participated in the event "Protecting Ukraine: Public-Private Defense of Allies Abroad", at the invitation of the Women's Foreign Policy Group and Beacon Global Strategies. The event was organized by the National Security Institute (NSI) at George Mason University. The topics discussed addressed the latest developments in cybersecurity related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and highlighted the growing participation of women in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the number of women working in cybersecurity around the world has increased in recent years, there remains a lack of participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a study carried out by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, female participation in Cybersecurity activities has gone from 11% in 2013 to 24% today. Despite notable progress, there is still a long way to go to achieve a more inclusive and representative environment that inspires future generations of women to enter this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
