On June 13, the Group of Inter-American Technical Advisors (GATI-CO) coordinated an instructive visit of students from the 2nd Course of National Monitors in Humanitarian Demining (CMNDH 2023\/2) to the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace (OACP) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Located in the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic, in the complex of the Government Palace of Colombia, the OACP fulfills the function of technical secretariat in Humanitarian Demining in Colombia, having in its list of powers and responsibilities the Information Management of the results achieved by the Humanitarian Demining Organizations in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CMNDH 2023\/2 has the participation of eleven students from the Colombian Military Forces, eight from the Army, two from the Navy and one from the Air Force, which is covered by the Cooperation and Technical Assistance Agreement between the Inter-American Defense Board ( JID) and the General Command of the Military Forces (COGFM), of January 7, 2015, within the framework of Training of Personnel of the Colombian Military Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit represented a historical milestone for the Group of Inter-American Technical Advisors, considering that it was the first opportunity, during the existence of the GATI-CO, in which the students of the National Monitor Course had the privilege of getting to know an important sector within the structure. of Humanitarian Demining in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the instructive visit, GATI-CO strengthened ties of professional and technical advice with the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace, providing students with the introduction of knowledge about the Humanitarian Demining activities carried out in their country \u2013 going beyond the technical level. at the administrative and strategic levels \u2013 so that, in the future, they are fully capable of fulfilling the relevant role of National Monitors, which will contribute to the Colombian territory being definitively freed from the scourge of Antipersonnel Mines and Improvised Explosive Devices.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
