On April 23, during the Ordinary Meeting No. 1411 and in accordance with the Statute and Regulations of the Inter-American Defense Board and the Council of Delegates, Brigadier General DEM Luis Rodr\u00edguez Bucio handed over the responsibilities of the Presidency of the Council of Delegates to Brigadier General Carlos Humberto Casta\u00f1eda Nassi, Vice President of the Council of Delegates, ending his management at the head of this OAS Entity.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the leadership of the Inter-American Defense Board presented the IADB Medal for the outstanding services provided to this Board, endorsing the appreciation of the Council of Delegates, the Inter-American Defense College and the IADB Secretariat, in recognition of his great leadership, brilliant career and invaluable contribution to the Inter-American Defense System.<\/p>\n
During the event, important personalities, professors and diplomatic authorities were present, highlighting the presence of Their Excellencies, Ambassador Jorge Lom\u00f3naco Tonda, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the OAS; Ambassador of Mexico to the USA, Martha B\u00e1rcena Coqui; Ambassador Rita Claverie D\u00edaz de Sciolli, Permanent Representative of Guatemala to the OAS; Ambassador Riyad Insanally, Permanent Representative of Guyana to the OAS and the Former Ambassadors of Mexico to the White House, Arturo Sarukhan Casamitjana and Ger\u00f3nimo Guti\u00e9rrez Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n
General Rodr\u00edguez Bucio thanked all the members of the Inter-American Defense Board and its collaborators and strategic partners for the tribute and recognition, in addition to corresponding recognition in his new responsibility as command of the Mexican National Guard, a new instrument of the Mexican State in charge of crime prevention, the preservation of public safety and the fight against crime throughout the Mexican Republic.<\/p>\n
Likewise, he thanked the very high distinction, permanent collaboration and constant support of the IADB bodies during his management, which is why the role of the Inter-American Defense Board was strengthened within the Organization of American States and of the Inter-American Defense System itself, wishing him the best of the future.<\/p>\n
