On April 26 and May 6 of this year, the Casa del Soldado, headquarters of the Inter-American Defense Board, was honored with the visit of the directors and students of the Doctorate programs in Defense and National Security, as well as Master's degrees. in National Security and Defense from the Center for Higher Naval Studies (CESNAV) and the National Defense College (CODENAL) of Mexico, who visited these facilities as part of the study agenda included in their international trip to various countries in the Western Hemisphere.<\/p>\n
During these visits they were received by the Brigadier General of the Peruvian Army, Carlos Humberto Casta\u00f1eda Nassi, Vice President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, as well as by the Brigadier General of the Canadian Army, Stephen Lacroix, Director General of the Secretariat of the IADB, who, in the company of the directors of the aforementioned educational institutions, presented a conference regarding the organization, operation and perspective of the Board.<\/p>\n
By holding these types of events, the IADB materializes one of its functions embodied in its statute relating to "promoting the interrelation and cooperation between civil officials and high-ranking military officials of the OAS Member States on issues related to military affairs." and defense. It also promotes the strengthening of ties of friendship and professional camaraderie between the members of this Board and the strategic level think tanks of the Hemisphere specialized in defense and security issues.<\/p>\n
