On March 8, the Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) had the honor of participating in a crucial event for the Women, Peace and Security (MPS) Agenda, organized by Women In International Security (WIIS) and the Embassy of Liechtenstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This in-person meeting included the participation of Anne Witkowsky, Deputy Secretary of State of the US Department of State and the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations, as well as a panel of experts who discussed strategies to incorporate a gender perspective in stabilization plans for states affected by conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 It is crucial to integrate a gender perspective into these plans to promote equality and the principles of the WPS agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion highlighted how these gender perspectives have been integrated into the plans, underlining the importance of this approach in security and stabilization policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had the pleasure of listening to Tahina Montoya, a prominent contributor to the IADB, who has participated as moderator and speaker in our last seminars. Her intervention emphasized the relevance of incorporating a gender perspective, marking a milestone in the progress towards gender equality in contexts of global fragility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
