The Inter-American Defense Board, an organization belonging to the Organization of American States (OAS), received on the morning of April 25 the Commander in Chief of the Chilean Air Force, Air General Hugo Rodr\u00edguez Gonz\u00e1lez, within the framework of the meetings he is holding in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion, General Rodr\u00edguez was received by the Director of the General Secretariat of the IADB, Major General of the Brazilian Air Force Flavio Luiz de Olivera Pinto and the Vice President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, General Carlos Gustavo Baz\u00e1n Barrios, of the Paraguayan Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the day, the IADB presented the lines of work that this organization carries out in accordance with the mandates issued by the OAS and the scope of issues that impact the Americas such as: Cyberdefense, Cooperation in Natural Disasters, Humanitarian Demining , Migratory Flows, Human Rights, Women's Peace and Security, Environmental Protection and New Technologies, among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, General Rodr\u00edguez expressed his vision of the work carried out by the Inter-American Defense Board and the positive impact that its actions allow in the countries of America and the Caribbean, seeking to generate options that allow more instances of cooperation between this organization and the Institution. , which has participated in the work of the Board for almost forty years and is today represented by three members of the institution in the fields of International Relations, Cybersecurity and Information Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created in 1942, during the Third Meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the American Republics, the IADB is an organization that promotes cooperation in security and defense among the countries of the Americas, facilitating dialogue and collaboration on issues military and civil. Its mission is to provide Member States with technical advisory services through the General Secretariat, advisory services through the Council of Delegates, and educational services through the Inter-American Defense College, on issues related to military and defense matters in the Hemisphere to contribute to the fulfillment of the OAS Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
