On May 29, at the training facilities, the 1st Multipurpose Brigade \u201cMariscal Eloy Ureta Montehermoso\u201d \u2013 II Division of the Peruvian Army, under the command of Brigadier General Antonio Baldovino Fernandini, gave a demonstration before the commission of the Inter-American Board of Defense on the disaster response capabilities of this prestigious Great Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delegation of the Inter-American Defense Board was made up of Major Brigadeiro do Ar Fl\u00e1vio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto, General Director of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board; Brigadier General Marco Antonio \u00c1lvarez Reyes, President of the Council of Delegates; and Colonel Orlando Melvin Ugaz Bartolo, Head of the Disaster Cooperation Division of the IADB, who witnessed the excellent preparation and training of the Peruvian armed forces in response to disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the demonstration, it was possible to appreciate the capabilities of searching for people and visualizing the area of operations through the use of drones, use of ground search and rescue units with special park tools, deployment of support units and logistical support, rescue of people in collapsed structures, launching bridges, among other capabilities, the same ones that allow the 1st Multipurpose Brigade \u201cMariscal Eloy Ureta Montehermoso\u201d to carry out response actions in case of disasters when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
