The Inter-American Defense Board participated in the opening ceremony of the II Specialized Conference \u2013 Paraguay 2024, within the framework of the Conference of American Armies (CEA), which took place from August 19 to 23 in the city of Asunci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by the Minister of National Defense of Paraguay, Army General (RE) \u00d3scar Luis Gonz\u00e1lez Ca\u00f1ete. The Commander of the Paraguayan Army, General Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Sosa, gave the words of welcome, thanks and closing to all the officers and civilians of the countries participating in the Conference. During the event, the role of the armies in missions other than national defense was discussed, as part of the need for security for the population and economic development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peruvian Air Force Colonel Luis Alberto Arrascue Avellaneda, representing the IADB at the Conference, made a presentation on the main lines of action developed within the framework of the Inter-American Defense Board to promote and strengthen hemispheric confidence and security, highlighting the Mechanism for Cooperation in Cases of Disasters (MECODE-CMDA) - currently under development - and the annual exercise simulating international humanitarian aid (MECODEX-CMDA).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
