On October 3, the Inter-American Defense Board participated in a meeting of the Committee on Hemispheric Security (CSH) of the Organization of American States (OAS), held in the historic Libertador Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar Hall of the Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the event, the President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, General Marco Antonio Alvarez Reyes, highlighted the work that the Inter-American Defense Board has been doing to promote cooperation in matters of security and defense among the countries of the Americas, facilitating dialogue and collaboration on military and civilian issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, and in line with the CSH agenda, the Colonel of the Peruvian Air Force, Luis Tolmos Valdivia, made a presentation on the current status of the Confidence and Security Building Measures (MFCS) of a military nature in the Inter-American System and the update of the electronic platform for monitoring this issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, Colonel Luis Alberto Arrascue Avellaneda, of the Peruvian Air Force, presented the lessons learned and good practices from the MECODEX-2024 humanitarian assistance exercise, held in Lima, Peru, in June, as well as the ongoing actions for the implementation of the Mechanism for Cooperation in Cases of Disasters (MECODE-CMDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
