On October 10, 2024, the directors and students of the Joint Military Defense Academy of Ecuador (ADEMIC) visited the facilities of the Inter-American Defense Board and were received by the Vice President of the Council of Delegates, General Carlos Gustavo Baz\u00e1n Barrios (Paraguay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the Head of the IADB's Undersecretariat for Advisory Services, Colonel Daniel Fitch (USA), presented the visitors with an overview of the organization, highlighting its role in promoting cooperation and dialogue among the American States. He also emphasized how the IADB works to address current hemispheric challenges, in line with the mandates of the OAS and its Democratic Charter, and stressed the importance of cooperation and collaboration among the Armed Forces of the Hemisphere to jointly address continental challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multilateral nature of the IADB was reaffirmed during the recent visit of the Joint Military Defense Academy of Ecuador. Participants agreed on the importance of regional cooperation to address common hemispheric challenges, such as cybersecurity, organized crime and natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
