The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) announced today the launch of a new security and defense collaboration initiative.<\/p>\n

This initiative is based on the Cooperation Framework signed between the OAS-SEDI and the IADB Secretariat in May of this year and was created to provide greater access to the high-level security and defense education currently offered by the Inter-American College of Defense (CID), in association with the Department of Human Development, Education and Employment of the OAS (DHDEE).<\/p>\n

The Project includes the development of scholarship programs to offset the costs of security and defense professionals from OAS member countries represented to participate in the CID Master's Program. Collaboration between DHDEE and the CID is also planned through the Educational Portal of the Americas, which will allow security and defense professionals to participate in the optional courses of the CID Master Program, access to the academic journal "Hemisferio" and Future development of online security and defense courses.<\/p>\n
