Brigadier General Davide MARZINOTTO
Italian Air Force Brigadier General Davide MARZINOTTO is the Defense and Defense Cooperation Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, DC, with secondary accreditation to Canada. As Defense Attaché, his primary duties include promoting bilateral military relations and initiatives, enhancing cooperation in security and defense programs, as well as supporting Italian military personnel posted on military facilities within these countries.

As Defense Cooperation Attaché, he represents the National Armament Director, thus overseeing the procurement process and supporting industrial and government partnerships, in the security and defense sector.
Brigadier General Davide Marzinotto joined the Air Force in 1991 with Nibbio IV Academy Course and was appointed Second Lieutenant in 1993.

He graduated as military pilot on T-38 aircraft (1996) after having attended ENJJPT at Sheppard AFB, TX flying school. In 1997, after achieving the Limited Combat Readiness of AM-X at the 101st OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) of the 32nd Wing, he was assigned to 103rd Fighter Bomber Squadron of the 51st Wing.

From 1997 to 1999, he participated in NATO stabilization operations in Bosnia and NATO operations in Kosovo. Since 1997, he has held the following positions: Head of Training Unit, Head of Tactics Unit, Section Chief of Wing Plans and Operations. In 2003, he attended the Red Flag at Nellis AFB (USA), as Weapon Officer.

In 2005, he led AM-X deployment to Electronic Warfare Validation Campaign at China Lake (USA). In 2004, Brig. Gen. Marzinotto moved to the 101st OCU Sq. as AM-X Instructor. Meantime from 2003 to 2008 he was also involved in the F-35 PMTS Program (Partner Manned Tactical Simulation).

In 2008, he was assigned to the 4th Wing on the EF2000, initially to the 9th Fighter Sq. and later as the 20th OCU Squadron Commander.

In 2011, during the Libyan crisis, Brig. Gen. Marzinotto participated in the operation «Odyssey Dawn» and «Unified Protector». In 2012, Brig. Gen. Marzinotto was assigned to the F-35 Joint Program Office in Washington, DC as Air System Requirement (ASR) Officer and Requirement Working Group Lead (RWG).

In 2015, he was appointed to the Italian JSF Directorate in Rome, first as Head of Requirement, Training and Operation Office and, the following year, as Head of F-35 Logistic Office. In 2017, he was qualified on F-35A at Luke AFB (USA), and soon after he took office as Wing Commander of the 32nd Wing in Amendola. During his period of command, he was also qualified on the MQ9 Predator B.

In 2019, Brig. Gen. Marzinotto was assigned to the Air Staff in Rome where he took office as Chief of the 2nd Office of the 4th Department.

From 2021 to June 2024, Brig. Gen. Marzinotto was the Joint Test Range Commander and the Air Force Sardinia Regional Commander.

Brig. Gen. Marzinotto is married to Mrs. Sara De Franceschi and has two sons aged 23 and 18 named Riccardo and Filippo.
