Eduardo Villegas Velazquez

General Eduardo Villegas was born on September 28, 1971, in Pueblito de Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico.

He is married to Wendy Astrid León León, with whom he had two sons, Harold Eduardo and Omar Karim.

He entered the Heroic Military College in 1989, graduating as a Second Lieutenant of Cavalry in 1993.

During his 35 years of service he has held various positions and commissions, including the following:

Teaching Activities

• Instructor at the Heroic Military College and the Higher War School.
• Head of the Research and Doctrine Section of the Mexican Army and Air Force University.
• Commander of the Cadet Corps of the Military School of Medicine.

Operational activities.

• 2nd. Commander of a Military Police battalion.
• Commander of two Motorized Cavalry Regiments, both on the northern border of Mexico.
• Commander of the Mexican Army Military Cattle Farm.

Administrative activities.

• Head of the Inter-Institutional Coordination Group of the National Defense Staff.
• Head of the Human Resources, Morale and Discipline and Promotions and Evaluation Subsections of the Human Resources Section of the Joint Staff of National Defense.

Studies

• Advanced Intelligence Course for Officers, at the Military Intelligence School of the Brazilian Army.
• Bachelor's degree in Military Administration and Diploma in General Staff from the Higher School of War
• Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of the Valley of Mexico.
• Master's Degree in National Security from the National Defense College.

He has received the decorations of perseverance for 35 years of uninterrupted service, the Distinguished Services for activities carried out to contain the Sars Cov-2 Virus (Covid 19) and the Mexican Military Legion of Honor.
