Major General César Macedo García joined the Peruvian Air Force in 1988, graduating as a Second Lieutenant in 1992 with the honorary distinction "Sword of Honor" and as a military pilot in 1993, accumulating more than 4,800 flight hours as an instruction pilot, strategic/tactical transport and bomber, in addition to serving as an instructor and test pilot.
He has held key positions such as Commander of training and transport squadrons, Head of Plans and Programs, Director of the Civil Aviation School, Commander of the Air Component in the VRAEM and Director of Strategic Planning of the FAP, General Commander of Air Wing N and, later, Second Commander of the Space and Cyberspace Control Command.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), a position that reflects his multinational leadership and commitment to hemispheric security.
In the academic field, he studied at the Brazilian Air Force Advanced Training School, the Argentine Air Force Aeronautical University Institute, the USARMY's Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC), the USAF Special Operations School, and the Inter-American Defense College (CID) in Washington, DC, USA. At the Inter-American Defense College, he was a student in Class 55 in 2015, and obtained the academic degree of "Master of Science in Inter-American Defense and Security," in addition to multiple international courses in security, defense, and strategic leadership.
He has been decorated for Exceptional and Meritorious Services, Distinguished Action in Military Operations and with the Silver Star Medal of the JID, consolidating a career of excellence and service to Peru and the continent.
Major General FAP César Macedo García is married to Civil Engineer Cecilia Caballero Castro, with whom he has two daughters, Joanna and Romina.
