Cybersecurity is a critical element of safety and security in an increasingly interconnected world. The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) recognizes the vital importance of cybersecurity, and that is why it maintains the Cybersecurity Section as an integral part of its Technical Services Division (DST). In the current scenario, cybersecurity plays a fundamental role in safeguarding the assets, information and communication systems of the IADB member countries.
The IADB Cybersecurity Section has a series of crucial missions. These include the maintenance of an updated network of contacts between Member States and organizations of interest, with a focus on cyber security and defense. In addition, we share information with our members, collect and widely disseminate relevant information, promote educational and training activities, organize relevant events, and provide technical analysis.
Our methods involve active collaboration with the Cybersecurity Subsection, promotion of reports and awareness campaigns, and regularly updating cybersecurity guides and training. Additionally, we are committed to maintaining an up-to-date network of cybersecurity contacts to facilitate the exchange of information.
Our actions involve establishing close ties with the member states of the IADB, as well as with organizations such as the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism and the Inter-American Defense Forum.
The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) is an institution of the Organization of American States (OAS) that promotes cooperation in security and defense among the countries of the Americas, facilitating dialogue and collaboration on military and civil issues.
