83rd Anniversary of the Inter-American Defense Board (03/30/25)

During the 83rd Anniversary of the Inter-American Defense Board, which was attended by Mr. Luis Almagro Lemes, Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Her Excellency Ambassador Jacinth Henry Martin, President of the OAS Committee on Hemispheric Security and Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the OAS, the Leadership of the Inter-American Defense Board, Ambassadors and Delegates accredited to the Inter-American Defense Board.

Ambassador Jacinth Henry Martin, Chair of the OAS Committee on Hemispheric Security, during her speech commemorating the creation of the Inter-American Defense Board, emphasized that the combined capabilities and will of the Member States within the Inter-American Defense Board multiplies the progress of the Organization of American States' regional agenda in matters of defense, multidimensional security, and sustainable development in the Americas.

The Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board emphasized that the Charter of the Organization of American States, the Declaration of Security of the Americas, and the Statutes of the Inter-American Defense Board are essential guidelines with a multidimensional approach that form the basis for the design, planning, and execution of each of the strategies and lines of action to provide advisory, technical, and educational support with the highest quality standards, thus responding to the needs of the member states of the Organization of American States.

The Committee on Hemispheric Security and the Inter-American Defense Board reaffirm their commitment to strengthening regional collaboration to achieve the best results in cohesion and trust on our continent.
