Confidence and Security Building Measures Workshop

On April 11, 2018, the Workshop on Confidence and Security Building Measures was held, in order to share experiences among specialists on the subject and at the same time, present the KNOWLEDGE AND SUPPORT PLATFORM FOR THE CSFM REPORT – OAS; the electronic template that supports a database for the “Annual Reports of Inventories in CSBMs Applied by the OAS Member States”; Likewise, for registration and updating by its national experts on the subject.

It is understood that the Confidence and Security Building Measures (CSBMs) are all the actions promoted by the Member States of the OAS and are intended to prevent crises and conflict situations, to strengthen international peace and security and to promote development, creating and fostering the necessary conditions for effective cooperation. That is to say, the true CSBMs are those that can provide transparency and effectively represent the good will between the various States, considering their nature, their constitution, their strategic interests and their limitations to contribute to peace.

In this way, the IADB provides the opportunity to make known, to member countries and other international organizations, the work that the speakers have developed and the experiences that they share with us of their participation and performance during their professional life in activities related to the application of CSBMs in a multidimensional security and defense environment.
