On September 18 of this year, the visit of 46 students from the Maritime Policy and Strategy Course of the Brazilian Naval War School was received at the Casa del Soldado, accompanied by Rear Admiral Nelson Nunes da Rosa, Head of the Brazilian Delegation. On the occasion, the students attended a conference by the President of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), General Luis Rodríguez Bucio, who presented the historical background, organization and functions of the IADB, followed by an allusion by of the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, General Stephen Lacroix. Likewise, Minister Gabriel Boff Moreira, representing Mr. Fernando Simas Magalhaes, Ambassador of Brazil to the Organization of American States, presented a historical vision, challenges and perspectives of the OAS.
The visit of the distinguished delegation contributed to the purpose of said course, as well as the IADB achieved the promotion of cooperation and interaction with study centers on the continent specialized in the areas of defense and security, at the same time strengthening ties of camaraderie and hemispheric collaboration.
