On March 8 of this year, in accordance with mandate 3, paragraph 83 of the OAS, Ambassador Adam Namm, Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission for Drug Abuse Control (CICAD-OAS), met with General of Brigada Porfirio Fuentes Vélez, General Director of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), to strengthen collaboration and strengthen ties between both institutions on important issues such as reducing the supply of drugs in the Americas, as well as the invitation to the Inter-American Defense Board as an Observer in the different activities carried out by CICAD. This meeting was accompanied by Ms. Angela Crowdy, Deputy Executive Secretary, and Mr. Rafael Parada, Head of the Supply Reduction Unit of CICAD, as well as Colonel Matthew Heim, Director of the Undersecretary of Advisory Services, Colonel Orlando Ugaz, Head of Threats. Emergentes and Lieutenant Colonel Abel Lara Liaison Officer on behalf of the IADB. This meeting was held at the facilities of the General Secretariat of the OAS.
