The IADB receives a visit from the Commander of Naval Operations of the Brazilian Navy

On April 5, the Inter-American Defense Board received, at the historic facilities of the Casa del Soldado, in Washington-DC, the visit of the Commander of Naval Operations of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Wladmilson Borges de Aguiar.

Received by the President of the Council of Delegates, Vice Admiral Alexandre Rabello de Faria, and by members of the Delegation of the Brazilian Navy (MB) to the IADB, Admiral Borges had the opportunity to learn, during the brief visit, a little more on the tasks carried out by the Board in favor of the cooperation and promotion of defense and security on the American continent.

When addressing the members of the Brazilian Naval Force, Admiral Borges highlighted the importance of the traditional presence of the Brazilian representation in the IADB, contributing in a highly professional manner to the Organization of American States (OAS) and its member countries to face the main current challenges in areas such as terrorism, organized crime, natural disasters, environment, cyber defense, human rights and international humanitarian law, among others.

The oldest multilateral defense organization in the world, the IADB, was created during World War II, with the initial mission of studying and proposing measures for the defense of the American continent, a task that has been carried out successfully and uninterruptedly throughout its more than 80 years of existence.
