Casa del Soldado is visited by students from the Mexican War College

On June 3, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received the visit of a delegation from the Higher War School of Mexico, on a study trip to Washington-DC

Led by Brigadier General Héctor Ávila Alcocer, Director of the Higher War School, the delegation was received at the Casa del Soldado by the President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, Brigadier General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes (Mexico), accompanied by Brigadier General Carlos Gustavo Bazán Barrios (Paraguay), Vice President of the Council of Delegates, and by Group General Edgardo Loth Salazar Robles (Mexico), Chief of Staff of Advisors to the Presidency.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the organization and main activities currently carried out within the framework of the Inter-American Defense Board in favor of promoting confidence and hemispheric security, through a conference on the topic. “The role of the IADB in the context of the Inter-American System”, given by Captain of the Sea and War of the Brazilian Navy Luciano Moraes De Oliveira, Deputy Director of the Undersecretariat of Advisory Services of the IADB.

The Higher War School is a center of higher military studies, which teaches postgraduate and military studies for the scientific and humanistic development of the armed forces, attended by chiefs and officers of the Mexican armed forces and friendly nations. Its graduates acquire the skills to assist and advise senior commanders with solid values and unrestricted respect for human rights in aspects of conception, preparation and conduct of military operations; management of human and material resources; and matters related to public administration.
