On August 13, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received a visit from the Commander General of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Víctor José Zanabria Angulo, accompanied by the Director of International Affairs of the PNP, Colonel Carlos Alberto López Aedo, and the Peruvian Police Attaché in Washington, Colonel Eduan Díaz Díaz.

During the visit, the PNP delegation had the opportunity to learn in detail, through a brief presentation, the purpose, structure, organization and activities carried out by this Multilateral International Organization to comply with the Mandates established by the Organization of American States (OAS) and its Democratic Charter, having emphasized that the participation, coordination and consultative, technical and educational collaboration of the Member States has allowed the successful development of the following topics: Cooperation in the face of Disasters, Cybersecurity, Humanitarian Demining, Migratory Flows, Arms Management, Women, Peace and Security, New Technologies, Environmental Protection, Maritime, Air and Land Security, as well as the importance of the educational context through the Inter-American Defense College.

Likewise, the importance of the contribution of the Member States with National Guard, Carabineros, Police, Military and Civil personnel in the Inter-American College and within the various Bodies of the IADB was highlighted, the above within the framework of the recently signed Agreement between the National Police of Peru and the Inter-American Defense College, so that personnel from that Police Institution participate in the accredited Master's program in Inter-American Defense and Security Sciences, thus promoting integration, collaboration, fraternity, dialogue and construction of knowledge, in order to face hemispheric challenges under topics of common interest among the States of the American Continent.

At the historic Casa del Soldado facilities in Washington, DC, visitors were welcomed by Major Brigadeiro do Ar Flavio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto (Brazil), Director General of the IADB Secretariat; General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes (Mexico), President of the Council of Delegates; General Richard Heitkamp (United States), Director of the Inter-American Defense College; and General Carlos Gustavo Bazán Barrios (Paraguay), Vice President of the Council of Delegates.
