On September 17, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received a visit from Brigadier General Luciano Bortoluzzi García, Chief of the 5th Deputy Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Army.
The distinguished visitor was greeted with a formal greeting by Major General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, Director General of the IADB Secretariat, who expressed his gratitude for the significant visit and outlined the Organization's main tasks in the areas of hemispheric defense and security.
During the meeting, the valuable contributions of the Armed Forces of the member countries to regional defense and security were highlighted, as well as the main lines of action currently promoted by the IADB to strengthen mutual trust and hemispheric cooperation in priority areas such as cybersecurity and cyberdefense, cooperation in disaster relief, environmental protection, humanitarian demining, maritime security, arms management, human rights, and the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda, among other relevant topics.
