On January 26, the EOD Level 3 Course began at the Army Engineers Academy, located in Hoyo de Manzanares, Spain, with the participation of sixteen (16) officers and non-commissioned officers from nine (9) Member States of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB).

This course is the result of a strong inter-institutional alliance between the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), the Organization of American States (OAS), the European Union and the Spanish Ministry of Defense, aimed at strengthening technical capabilities in the deactivation of explosive devices in the Americas.

The correct use of specialized equipment and strict adherence to safety procedures constitute a non-negotiable doctrine, guaranteeing the integrity of personnel and the success of the mission.

The academic program includes specialized theoretical instruction on the operation of multifunction fuses and electronic systems of explosive devices, through the analysis of technical diagrams and advanced audiovisual materials. This training provides the necessary scientific foundation for conducting safe neutralization operations in the field.
In addition, participants perform ergonomic exercises and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring compliance with the highest international standards, as a preliminary phase to the start of field practices with real loads.
