CONFERENCE OF COMMANDERS OF AMERICAN ARMS

From February 23 to 27, the Director General of the Inter-American Defense Board, General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, accompanied by Colonel João Leitão Alencar Filho, participated in the Inaugural Session of the XXXVII Cycle of the Conference of American Armies, held in the city of Asunción, Paraguay.

This new work cycle, which will take place during the years 2026–2027 under the presidency of the Paraguayan Army, brings together the armies of the continent with the purpose of strengthening integration, cooperation and the exchange of experiences in matters of security and defense.

During his speech, the Director General of the Inter-American Defense Board, General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, highlighted the importance of the CEA as a strategic space to strengthen mutual trust, promote cooperation among the armies of the Americas and contribute to the fulfillment of the principles of the Organization of American States (OAS), in its four pillars, Democracy, Human Rights, Security and Development, in addition to strengthening cooperation among Member States and Observers.

The opening ceremony was attended by 19 delegations from member armies and international observers, reaffirming the regional commitment to peace, cooperation and hemispheric security.
