Last Monday, March 16, the Inter-American Defense Board held the solemn ceremony for the awarding of the Inter-American Defense Board Medal, which is given to personnel who provided outstanding services to this International Organization.
The ceremony was presided over by the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, Major General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, accompanied by the Vice President of the Council of Delegates, Brigadier General Eduardo Villegas Velásquez.
The Inter-American Defense Board Medal is the highest distinction of the institution, created to exalt military virtues and recognize commitment to fulfilling the mandates entrusted by the Organization of American States, thus reaffirming the spirit of service, professional excellence and the vocation of hemispheric cooperation that characterizes this international entity.
