CONFERENCE OF AMERICAN ARMIES

The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) participated in the Conference of American Armies, held from March 22 to 27, 2026 at the West Point Military Academy in New York, where the impact of transnational organized crime on the security and strategic defense of the hemisphere was analyzed.

During the presentations, the growing complexity of this threat was highlighted, characterized by the convergence of illicit economies, the hybridization of criminal structures and their ability to exert territorial control, as well as their link to phenomena such as terrorism and "polycriminality".

Furthermore, the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, information exchange, and mutual trust among States was emphasized, through a comprehensive approach that involves not only the defense sector, but the entire State and society.

The Inter-American Defense Board reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting member states in strengthening their strategic capabilities and articulating hemispheric responses to common threats that transcend national borders.
