On September 9, a commemorative event for Brazil's Independence Day was held at the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) facilities. It was attended by IADB leadership, Brazilian Military Attachés, representatives of the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the Organization of American States, and delegations accredited to the IADB.
In his speech, Rear Admiral João Batista, Head of the Brazilian Delegation to the IADB, emphasized that the ceremony commemorates one of the most significant moments in the country's history, when its sovereignty was affirmed before the concert of nations. He also emphasized that the close and increasingly solid ties of cooperation in the areas of diplomacy, defense, and security always benefit regional development and the prosperity of our peoples.
