On September 6, after the informal meeting of the Council of Delegates, the members of the IADB celebrated the anniversary of Brazil's Independence. The civil celebration was offered by the Brazilian Representation to the IADB and the Brazilian members of the Secretariat and Presidency. The Head of the Brazilian Delegation, Admiral Nelson, praised the date and the ties of friendship that unite the countries of the hemisphere. Present were the President of the Council, General Bucio, the Director General of the IADB, General Stephen Lacroix and the Director of the Inter-American Defense College, General James Taylor, delegates accredited to the IADB, diplomatic personnel to the OAS and civil and military officials of the IADB.
The IADB salutes its Brazilian members and that great nation of the hemisphere for the event of such a great date.
