Lieutenant Commander Taryn Senez, Gender Advisor to the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board, participated as a speaker in the 10th edition of the Peace Operations Course for Women of the Brazilian Navy, International stage, held in Rio de Janeiro.
Organized by the Naval Peace Operations Center, the course aims to train and expand the participation of women in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions, having trained more than 350 participants in previous editions.
In 2023, the class had 60 women and representatives from eleven countries attended: Angola, Cameroon, Chile, the United States, Ethiopia, Ghana, Latvia, Namibia, Peru, Thailand and Uruguay.
Among the keynote speakers, the participation of Lieutenant Colonel Lausanne Nsengimana Ingabire, Military Gender Advisor in the Office of Military Affairs of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations; as well as doctors Renata Giannini and Eduarda Hamann, who work and develop research in the area of peacekeeping in the context of conflicts.
