On May 10, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received a visit from a class of eighteen students from the Master's Degree in National Security at the Center for Higher Naval Studies of Mexico (CESNAV).

Led by Rear Admiral Tayatzin Guerrero Mendoza, Academic Chief of CESNAV, the delegation was received by the Vice President of the Board of Delegates of the IADB, Brigadier General Néstor Zalazar Echauri (Paraguay), who after welcoming the visitors, presented a conference on the topic “Organization, Operation and Perspectives of the IADB”, in which the main activities currently carried out by the Inter-American Defense Board were detailed.

Complementing the activities, Captain Marcus Vinícius Monteiro, of the Brazilian Navy, gave a presentation on the IADB Maritime Security Program, an initiative that aims to promote integration and cooperation within the naval community of the Americas, on issues related to Maritime Defense and Security.

The Center for Higher Naval Studies is the highest house of study of the Secretariat of the Navy-Navy of Mexico, promoting postgraduate courses to the personnel of the Secretariat of the Navy and guests, in order to prepare leaders to act in strategic, operational and tactics, with the values of the naval profession, as well as assisting in the development of doctrine and institutional strategic planning.
