Ceremony for the Imposition of the IADB Medal at the 1479th Regular Meeting in the Simón Bolívar Hall of the OAS.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Leadership of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), composed of the President of the Council of Delegates, Major General FAP César Macedo García, the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, Major General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, the Deputy Director of the Inter-American Defense College, Rear Admiral Paulo Roberto Blanco Ozorio, and the Vice President of the IADB Council of Delegates, Brigadier General Eduardo Villegas Velazquez, awarded the Inter-American Defense Board Medal to personnel who have contributed in an extraordinary way to strengthening the ties of cooperation, trust, and mutual understanding among the Armed Forces of the Member States, based on the principles of integration, collaboration, and strengthening of hemispheric security, in accordance with the mandates of the Organization of American States (OAS).

The aforementioned award was given to the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Panama and Chair of the Committee on Hemispheric Security, Ana Irene Delgado; to the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Jacinth Henry-Martin; to the Commander General of the Peruvian Air Force, Air Force General Carlos Enrique Chávez Cateriano; to the Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Ecuador, Army General Henry Delgado Salvador; to the Land Forces and the Navy of Ecuador; as well as to the Heads of Delegation and Alternate Delegates of the countries that comprise this Board, for the completion of their mission and outstanding services rendered to the IADB.

This event took place within the framework of the 1479th Regular Meeting of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board, which was attended by the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Ms. Laura Gil, who highlighted the important contribution that this Board makes to the Organization of American States in the areas of security and hemispheric cooperation. It is worth noting that this meeting took place in the "Libertador Simón Bolívar" Hall of the Casa de las Américas of the Organization of American States, located in Washington, DC, marking a milestone in the new stage of the sessions of the Council of Delegates of the IADB at the OAS facilities.
