On February 28, 2020, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), represented by the President of the Council of Delegates, Major General Luciano José Penna, awarded the IADB Medal to the International Demining Center of the Academy of Engineers of the Army of the Kingdom of Spain.
The event was attended by the Spanish Minister of Defense, Mrs. Margarida Robles Fernandez, in addition to the civil and military authorities. On this occasion, the cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain for the training of humanitarian demining instructors and its highly positive impact in the Western Hemisphere was highlighted.
