The Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) participates in the International Meeting on Mine Action, held in Geneva, fulfilling Mandate No. 114 of the Organization of American States (OAS).
During the event, the IADB presented the Humanitarian Demining work developed in Colombia, through the Comprehensive Action Program against Antipersonnel Mines (AICMA-Colombia); and cooperation is being sought and joining efforts to implement a new plan for the demining of the border between Peru and Ecuador, in compliance with the objective of “Achieving a Mine-Free America.”
Representing the IADB in these activities, the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, the Brigadier General Juan José Gómez Ruiz and the Humanitarian Demining Advisor of the Undersecretary of Advisory Services, Colonel Marco Aurelio Baldassarri.
