On May 26, the Inter-American Defense Board received a visit from a delegation from the Colombian War College (ESDEG), made up of 30 students from the General Staff Course on a study trip to Washington-DC.
ESDEG is the Higher Education Institution of the General Command of the Military Forces of Colombia, specialized in matters of Security and National Defense, fulfilling the mission of training senior officers of the Armed Forces of Colombia who carry out the courses of Higher Military Studies, General Staff and Military Training.
Led by Brigadier General Fabio Caro Cancelado, Academic Head of the School, the delegation was received at the Casa do Soldado by the Vice President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, Brigadier General Néstor Zalazar Echauri (Paraguay), and by Colonel Matthew William Heim (USA), Director of the Undersecretary of Advisory Services of the IADB.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the activities currently carried out within the framework of the Inter-American Defense Board, through a presentation on the structure, organization, operation, missions and main challenges faced in the world stage.
