During September 7, 8 and 9, the Inter-American Defense Board participated in the workshop "Strategic and Political Implications of Resolution 1325 of the United Nations Security Council: Women, Peace and Security", organized by the William Center J. Perry, in collaboration with the United States Southern Command. The workshop focused on understanding how to craft policies that maximize women's meaningful participation in advocacy.
Alexandre Rabello de Faria, Vice Admiral of the Brazilian Navy, President of the Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board, participated as a guest speaker, addressing the topic "The role of leadership: women, peace and security."
Two officers from the Inter-American Defense Board participated in the workshop, Lieutenant Commander Taryn Senez, of the Brazilian Navy, and Lieutenant Commander Alexa Pereyra, of the Peruvian Navy.
