With the purpose of verifying the possibilities of cooperation established in the agreement with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), members of the Inter-American Defense Board (JID) and the Inter-American Defense Foundation (FID) carried out, on days 7 and 8 June, a visit to the facilities of the University of Texas.
Within the framework of the agreement signed between the institutions, a workshop is initially being planned, aimed at a multinational disaster management response scenario in the Caribbean region.
On the occasion, the representatives of the FID and the IADB were able to verify the excellence of the TEEX instructors and the facilities for the exercise of all levels of response to the occurrence of a disaster, in various scenarios.
Representatives of the FID, the IADB Secretariat, the Delegation of Barbados and the Embassy of Jamaica participated in the visit.
