IADB leadership participates in the first session of the OAS Committee on Hemispheric Security (2025-2026).

On October 24, 2025, a delegation from the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) participated in the first meeting of the Committee on Hemispheric Security (CSH) of the Organization of American States (OAS) for the 2025-2026 period.

The IADB was represented by Lieutenant General Reinaldo Salgado, Brazilian Army, Director General of the Secretariat; Brigadier General Eduardo Villegas, Mexican Army, Vice President of the Council of Delegates; and senior advisory officers of the institution.

During the session, the president of the CSH, Panamanian Ambassador to the OAS, Ana Irene Delgado, welcomed General Salgado to his new position and highlighted the IADB's contribution to strengthening confidence and security in the region.

In his remarks, General Salgado expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate and reaffirmed the IADB's willingness to place its capabilities and specialized personnel at the service of the member states. He emphasized that, throughout the history of the OAS, the IADB has been a benchmark in international cooperation, providing technical, advisory, and educational services, and reiterated his commitment to continue supporting countries in the face of current challenges.

The main panel of the 2025-2026 CSH was composed of Iván Márquez, Secretary of Multidimensional Security, and Steven Griner, Chief of Staff of the OAS Assistant General Secretariat.
