On July 30, 2021, the presentation ceremony of the Diplomated Brigadier General of the General Staff, Porfirio Fuentes Vélez, belonging to the Mexican Army, who will serve as General Director of the Secretariat of the General Staff, took place at the “Casa del Soldado”. Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) in the period from July 2021 to June 2023.
General Fuentes Vélez thanked this ceremony and mentioned that he is coming to join the IADB work team with the intention of continuing to promote the activities of this hemispheric organization for the benefit of the nations of the continent; Likewise, it will seek to strengthen the IADB as an advisory entity to the Organization of American States (OAS) on military and defense matters.
