He Brigadier General Juan José Gómez Ruiz, of the Mexican Army, appeared before the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) to fulfill his mandate as Director General of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board.
The Director General was elected for the period between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2021 and will have the main challenges of providing logistical, personal and financial support to the bodies that make up the IADB System, as well as technical advice. to the Council of Delegates.
General GOMEZ joined the Mexican Army in September 1982 and rose to the rank of Brigadier General in November 2018. He commanded, among others: the Special Forces Corps, the 10th and 20th Motorized Cavalry Regiment. He was also military and air attaché at the Mexican embassies in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Israel; and Head of the 5th Section of the National Defense General Staff.
He is married to Mrs. Guadalupe and has two children: Juan and Georgina.
