In October 2025, as part of the relocation of the headquarters from the historic "House of the Soldier" to the main building of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) experienced a moment of profound historical and institutional significance.

This significant meeting evoked the origins of the IADB, recalling the first session held in 1942 in the emblematic "Hall of the Americas", where the foundations of hemispheric cooperation in security and defense were laid.

More than eight decades later, that legacy was honored by holding another meeting in the same historic OAS building, this time in the “Simón Bolívar Hall”, a symbol of integration, unity and shared vision among the nations of the continent.

This act not only represented a change of headquarters, but also the reaffirmation of a permanent commitment to the values that have guided the institution since its origin: cooperation, mutual trust, vocation of service and defense of peace in the Americas.

A past that inspires, a present that strengthens, and a future that unites us.
