On December 5, 2022, the OAS Department of Public Security and the Inter-American Defense Board held a Weapons and Ammunition Management Workshop. During the event, experts from Brazil, Colombia, the United States, Peru, the United Nations Disarmament Research Institute and the Organization of American States presented experiences and lessons learned to determine the traceability of ammunition and explosives in the hemisphere.
The event was attended by Brigadier General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez, General Director of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board and was aimed at the Latin American Armed and Police Forces, Military and Defense Academies, International Defense and Security Organizations, Institutions of Arms Control and State Security Institutions.
