On April 6, during the Cultural Meeting of the Americas 2019, the Inter-American Defense Board received a distinguished study visit from a delegation from the US Army Military Academy West Point, (US Military Academy, for its acronym in Spanish). English), members of the Spanish Language Club within the academic foreign language program of the aforementioned military establishment.
During this visit, the IADB, through the Cultural Meeting, offered the West Point cadets a broad cultural and folkloric platform from the member countries of this OAS Entity, which allowed them to learn about part of the regional culture and gastronomy in the Americas. Without a doubt, the objective set by the USMA Foreign Languages Department was achieved during this event.
During this visit, the West Point delegation recognized Brigadier General LUIS RODRÍGUEZ BUCIO, President of the Inter-American Defense Board, in gratitude for the facilities provided for the success of the study visit.
We hope to have the valuable participation of this group in the Cultural Meeting of the Americas 2020.
With important approaches like this, the IADB reaffirms its commitment to its Member States, educational institutions and collaborating organizations, to provide technical, consultative and educational advisory services on issues related to military and defense matters in the Hemisphere to contribute to compliance with the OAS Charter.
