From October 18 to 22, 2021, the VIII Inter-American Naval Conference Specialized in Science, Technology and Innovation (VIII CNIE CT&I) was held in the city of Salinas, Ecuador. The Inter-American Defense Board was represented by the President of the Council of Delegates, Vice Admiral Alexandre Rabello de Faria, who had the opportunity to present the topic: "The technological challenges for the execution of the permanent observation programs of the Inter-American Defense Board" . The meeting also served a positive agenda of interests of the IADB, through protocol visits in the city of Guayaquil to the General Commander of the Ecuadorian Navy, Rear Admiral Brúmel Vázquez Bermúdez; and in the city of Quito to the Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Jorge Cabrera Espinosa; to the Institute of Higher National Studies (IAEN) and the University of the Armed Forces (ESPE).
