On November 13, 2024, the directors and students of the Center for Advanced National Studies of Peru (CAEN) visited the facilities of the Inter-American Defense Board, where they were received by the President of the Council of Delegates, Brigadier General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes, and the Head of the Undersecretariat of Advisory Services of the IADB (SSA), Daniel Fitch.
During the meeting, the multilateral nature of the IADB was highlighted, as well as the importance of cooperation and collaboration between the Armed Forces of the continent to jointly face regional challenges, in areas such as cybersecurity, organized crime and adverse natural phenomena. The Head of the SSA offered an overview of the organization, highlighting its role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between the countries of the Americas. In addition, the work of the IADB in managing current hemispheric challenges, aligned with the mandates of the OAS and its Democratic Charter, was highlighted.
The CAEN delegation consisted of Infantry Colonel Felipe Santacruz Villarreal, Director of CAEN, and 44 students.
