On March 3, 2025, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received a visit from a delegation of the Inter-American Naval Telecommunications Network (RNIT), headed by its Secretary, Frigate Captain Gregory Farrell of the United States Navy. The delegation was received by the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, Major Brigadeiro Flávio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto.
Both institutions made presentations on the activities they carry out, with the aim of outlining points of convergence that result in a synergy of efforts in favor of Hemispheric Security. On this occasion, the RNIT highlighted the change in its mission, moving from being a technical organization in the area of communications to acting at a strategic level, evolving to become the Permanent Secretariat of the Inter-American Naval Conference (CNI).
