On October 6, 2025, the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received the visit of the Permanent Representative of Mexico to the Organization of American States (OAS), Ambassador Luz Elena Baños Rivas, at the "Casa del Soldado."

The IADB leadership, comprised of Major General César Macedo García, President of the Council of Delegates; Major General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, Director General of the IADB Secretariat; Brigadier General Eduardo Villegas Velázquez, Vice President of the Council of Delegates; and the representative of the Inter-American Defense College (IADC), welcomed Ambassador Baños Rivas, who was accompanied by Brigadier General Manuel Ladrón de Guevara Job, Military and Air Attaché and Head of the Mexican Delegation to the IADB.
The meeting aimed to strengthen institutional ties between the IADB and the Mexican Representative Office, within the framework of the shared commitment to promoting cooperation, mutual trust, and hemispheric security.

During the meeting, Ambassador Baños Rivas mentioned the work of the Mexican Delegation in contributing to the fulfillment of the IADB's missions and objectives. She also emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the Inter-American Defense Board as the OAS's technical, advisory, and educational body in matters of defense and security, as well as the lines of action it promotes for the benefit of member states.
