The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) received a visit from Admiral Henning Faltin, Permanent Observer of the European Union to the Organization, for the purpose of holding a working meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation ties between both institutions.
Representing the IADB were Major General FAP César Macedo García, President of the Council of Delegates; Brigadier General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, Director General; and Brigadier General Eduardo Villegas Velásquez, Vice President of the Council of Delegates.

During the meeting, projects related to the CRIMARIO software (Critical Maritime Routes in the Indian Ocean) were discussed, an initiative of the European Union aimed at strengthening the exchange of information and maritime surveillance on critical routes, in order to contribute to international maritime security.
The visit made it possible to identify areas of common interest between the objectives of the IADB and the actions of the European Union, especially in the area of information exchange, technical cooperation and the promotion of hemispheric security, reaffirming the joint commitment to regional peace and stability.
