On Friday, May 16, 2017, the Inter-American Defense Board received the honorable visit of students from the master's programs in National Security and Geopolitics at the Mexican Center for Naval Studies (CESNAV). The delegation was led by CESNAV Director Vice Admiral José Orozco Tocaven.

During the visit, the master's students were presented with the vision, mission, organization, and lines of action of the IADB, guidelines that guide its actions in support of dialogue and cooperation among the states of the hemisphere.
Also during the visit, a keynote address was given on the topic "Critical Reflections on Multidimensional Security in the Americas" by Mr. Steven Griner, Head of the Department of Public Security of the Secretariat for Multidimensional Security of the Organization of American States (OAS). He emphasized that current hemispheric challenges require coordinated and joint actions by states, and that dialogue and cooperation are fundamental pillars for creating actions that seek to mitigate threats and challenges in the hemisphere.

This visit reaffirmed that cooperation, collaboration, and dialogue among states, their armed forces, police forces, security forces, and diplomatic corps are key to multiplying and aligning efforts to foster and strengthen hemispheric trust and security.
