The Inter-American Defense Board extended a most cordial and distinguished welcome to Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of Staff of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of the Federative Republic of Brazil, who paid an official visit to the institution's headquarters, accompanied by his delegation.

The Director General of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board, Major General Reinaldo Salgado Beato, presented an institutional presentation on the mission, functions and main areas of work of the organization, highlighting its role in strengthening hemispheric cooperation in defense and security matters, capacity building and the exchange of experiences among Member States.

The Admiral's visit represented a valuable opportunity to strengthen the strategic dialogue between the Inter-American Defense Board and the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Brazil. It also allowed for the exchange of experiences and the consolidation of cooperation efforts aimed at addressing common challenges in defense, security, and hemispheric stability.

The official visit reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Brazil and the Inter-American Defense Board, promoting the exchange of knowledge, the strengthening of capacities and the development of joint initiatives for the benefit of the Member States of the Inter-American System, while demonstrating the shared commitment of both institutions to hemispheric cooperation and the search for coordinated solutions to common challenges in defense, security and institutional development.

Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire signed the Inter-American Defense Board's Book of Distinguished Visitors, as a testament to his honorable visit to this institution, thus reaffirming his commitment to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship, cooperation and collaboration in favor of hemispheric defense and security.
